REINFORCED CONCRETE WORKS

We offer a full foundation service – ground beams, pile caps & slabs.

Our civils team can take on the full dig out, shuttering, fixing and installation of steel reinforcement and concreting to a precise level finish. This is a preferred option for most of our valued clients when piling a project in order to have one company complete the works.

We can liaise with your architects / structural engineers and work to their specification or provide a full foundation design.

Reinforced Concrete Works is ideal for:

  • New build developments
  • Commercial sites
  • House extensions
  • Flood lights
  • Phone masts
  • Wind Farms

Piled Ground Beams, Rafts, Slabs and Caps

To create piled ground beams, reinforced steel is put into place either spanning between the piles, concrete is then poured to cover the cages knitting the cages to the piles which will create an extremely strong foundation to support your building’s structure.

To create piled rafts / slabs, reinforced steel mesh / cages are placed over the area on top of the already created “open” piles, concrete is then poured to cover the steel mesh knitting it to the piles. The concrete is smoothed and levelled to create an extremely strong foundation to support your buildings structure or can be used as flooring where heavy machinery may be used.

To create piled caps, a perimeter usually made from timber or plastic is created around the piles in accordance with the engineer’s drawings in which concrete is then poured onto the concrete piles that to create a stable foundation. It usually forms part of the foundation of a building, typically a multi-story building, structure or support base for heavy equipment.

Un-Piled Ground beams, Rafts and Slabs

To create a reinforced concrete slab the current ground is brought to the correct level. If anti-heave is requested by the local council or engineer, this is then installed accordingly. Wooden or plastic shuttering is made and installed around the perimeter of the foundation. Reinforced steel is then placed and installed to the engineer’s design. Once passed by the building control inspector or appointed warranty inspector, concrete is then filled to the correct level.

To create ground beams, a trench is excavated with a digger to the specified depth and width. If anti-heave is requested by the local council or engineer, this is then installed accordingly. Once installed, RC ground cages are constructed and installed to the engineer’s design. Once passed by the building control inspector or appointed warranty inspector, concrete is then filled to the correct level.
