Driven Piling

North Piling can offer both pre cast concrete piles and steel tube piles. Driven rigs are often large rigs that can achieve deep foundations a log quicker than mini piling for example. Driven piling is often the choice on large site as the production is very economical due to the speed the piles can be installed.

There is often little mess or spoil to be removed from site after the piles have been installed and there is no curing time for the concrete which enables ground works to commence immediately unlike other methods of piling.

For pre cast piles we can install from 200mm x 200mm to 400mm x 400mm piles. For steel tube piles we can install a vast range of diameters.

Pre Cast

Pre cast concrete piles arrive on site at the required length specified in the pile design, if the depths are extremely long we can join 2 piles together to achieve these depths.

These piles are attached to the winch and raised up to the hammer on the rig, these piles are slotted into the head of the hammer, once the pile is over the pile position and is level the hammer repeatedly strikes the pile penetrating the ground until the required depth or set is achieved to complete the pile.

Steel Tube

Steel tube piles arrive on site at the required length specified in the pile design, if the depths are extremely long we can join 2 piles together to achieve these depths.

These piles are attached to the winch and raised up to the hammer on the rig, these piles are slotted into the head of the hammer, once the pile is over the pile position and is level the hammer repeatedly strikes the pile penetrating the ground until the required depth or set is achieved to complete the pile.

Pile Design Service

We use an award winning specialist pile designer who is equipped with state of the art geotechnical and structural engineering design software who assesses each project and the ground conditions on site to select the most efficient and cost effective method of piling.

The specialist designer can also complete full foundation design packages whether that is ground beams, pile caps, slabs or retaining walls. This is a personalised service we offer to our clients, whether you already have certain aspects completed by the structural engineer or if you need the full design from scratch we can help.

Upon acceptance of a project the specialist designer will provide a full detailed design package which is covered by £5m Professional Indemnity insurance.
